Baby Finley....two weeks old

Shawn was out of town today, so I loaded up all six hundred of my kids (can you tell it's been a long week?) and headed to Kelly and Ronny's to kill some time.  Ronny entertained the big kids, while Kelly and I tried to take some pics of baby Finley.  "Tried" is the operative word, because photographing a newborn is next to impossible when your own three kids are running amok all over the place.  This is how awesome a mom I am:  At one point we couldn't find Livi and we discovered her under the dining room table eating one of the kids chicken strips from lunch.  Classic.  I can hear you all mentally taking me off your babysitting list as I type this.
Anyway, we got some cute shots of baby Finley.....who we have already nicknamed "Finkey" or "Finneas".  Anyone close enough to my husband and I are branded with alternate names, because that's how we roll.      Here she is.....get ready to want another baby!

Baby Addison

Isn't she precious?  She has the most beautiful, big eyes, and she was SO well behaved for the whole shoot.  Mom, Dad and big brother are totally smitten by her.  Loved spending time with you guys....thanks for letting me photograph your beautiful baby!
I had to add the last one because I love images of crying babies....not that I want one in my house at 3 a.m., but I think they are so cute!  Some of my favorite pictures of my own kids are ones of them fussing when they are tiny!
 Congratulations on your precious blessing!!

Lyssa and Josh

This evening I got the chance to photograph this adorable couple....it wasn't hard to take sweet shots of them, because they so clearly love each other and can't wait to be married.  We had a great time, and the light was BEAUTIFUL.  Hope you guys love these!!

Finley's birth

Now THIS is what it is all about.....witnessing another human being entering the world is one of the most amazing things I have ever had the privilege to be a part of.   I know these things to be true:
1.  My best friend is a stud.  Seriously....I am in awe of her and how strong she is.
2.  Methodist Hospital is a meat locker.  They must keep the temperature at 45 degrees.  I almost needed an epidural to deal with the pain of freezing to death.
3.  Baby Finley is beautiful!
4.  Dr. Largoza is possibly the world's most amazing ob/gyn.  If you don't have an ob or want a new (awesome) one, I highly recommend her!  She is my ob as well, and she is incredible.  She is more than just doing her job when she is delivering your baby.....in all the pictures I took yesterday, you can see real joy on her face when Finley is coming into the world.....she felt like one of us in the room...not just a doctor.  Very cool.
5.  It's very hard to take photographs and worry about things like film speed and aperture when you are bawling your eyes out.

This baby is an ANGEL, and I am so glad I got to be there when she took her first breaths.....to Kelly and Ronny, I am eternally grateful that you allowed me to be a part of such an amazing event.....I love you all so much!!

Strother Twins

Be still my heart....how precious are these babies??? We met them today in Austin, and had the best time!  They are the sweetest, happiest babies and were so easy to shoot.  Mom, Dad and I would cheer and holler at them to get them to smile, and they were so cute...they would flap their little arms like birds and make the most adorable faces.  It's funny, because watching mom and dad handle them today, I found myself thinking "How do they manage with two babies??"....and I have DONE it....I just can't remember what it was like.  I'm sure it wasn't easy, but how can you not love having TWO of these at home??  I wanted to stuff them in my pocket and take them home....I loved so many from their shoot...get ready for a long preview.....

The Brays.....

Love these kids!  I think they are adorable...probably because they look a lot like my kids! :)  They were so sweet and cooperative today!  We managed to do this shoot pretty quickly, and they were so good the whole time.  I posted some of my favorites....I LOVE the picture where big sissy is giving the baby the stink eye.  This is probably not one that their mommy will want to frame, but it cracks me up, and is so honest!  Enjoy....
